About Us
Terri Carr is a licensed Interior Designer and a member of ASID, the American
Society of Interior Designers. She has over 25 years of experience as a designer.
She has a special interest in the psychology of color and how it impacts our lives.
She uses this knowledge and her experience in every project.

Our team includes Co-Owner and Window Treatment Installer, Howard Carr. The
Studio Coordinator is Mary Edwards. We work closely with Tim Carr, of Carr
Custom Remodeling, for interior painting and installation of wallpaper and tile. We
have two talented seamstresses and regularly work with a well-known upholsterer.
In addition, we have an extensive roster of sources, artisans, craftspeople and
tradesmen. These wonderful people and companies help to realize our designs.

About Our Work
Much of Terri's work can be described as "comfortable elegance." She likes
rooms to look as though they have evolved, not as though someone just went to
a store and bought everything at once. An evolved room is more interesting and
easier to live with, because it doesn't demand perfection. Terri tries to use a mix
of styles in a room, often resulting in a transitional or eclectic look. As one client
said, "My home looks exactly the way I would have done it, if I'd only known how."

Terri's experience has shown that clients often save money by using her services
because they don't spend on something that isn't going to look right or work in
the space. Terri believes that having a plan for your decor gives you the freedom
to do a project in phases, knowing that it will all work together beautifully in the

custom window treatments are known throughout the area for their high
quality workmanship, beautiful fabrics and trims and unique styles. We've done
many "specialty" window shapes, such as arches and triangles. We have
wonderful custom shutters and are one of the only local sources for Conrad
Shades, which are beautiful handwoven shades in natural materials such as raffia
and bamboo.

How We Work
The transformation of your home from what it is now to what it can be begins with
a personal visit with Terri. If you would like, she encourages you to meet with her
in the studio. You can begin to get to know each other, look at past projects we've
done and discuss your project. There is no charge for the initial visit in her studio.

The meeting at your house begins the process. You and Terri will discuss your
project in detail. Terri will begin to learn your taste, your likes and dislikes, your
lifestyle. If you are interested only in consultation,  Terri will give you ideas and
suggestions. She can choose paint colors and even rearrange your furniture and
accessories. You will be surprised how great your home looks--even without
purchasing anything new! This consultation and/or rearranging will be on an
hourly basis. Terri charges $95
.00 an hour.

If you have a larger project, Terri will most likely ask for a retainer to cover her
design time as she puts together a presentation that could include fabric and
furniture selection, drapery styles, flooring, lighting, accessories--whatever the
project requires.

You can use her selections as a road map for future plans and simply pay her for
her time. Or, if you are ready to proceed with any part of the project, you can
purchase most items through our studio. Once you have begun to purchase
through us, we no longer charge for design time.

Project Management
We can be as involved in your project as you'd like us to be. We can manage the
whole thing, arranging for workmen and craftspeople, ordering the supplies and
fielding questions that come up along the way. Many clients find this service
extremely helpful because it transfers much of the responsibility and potential
stress to us. For this, we simply charge 10% of the project total. If you would
prefer to be your own project manager, or if you enjoy doing much of the work
yourself, we can certainly accommodate that. We will be your partner to bring
about the beautiful end result we all desire.
